2011 LA Auto Show: Mario Kart 7
One of the most packed displays at the 2011 LA Auto Show wasn't the new Honda CR-V or even the Toyobaru Twins. It was Mario & Luigi displaying their karts from the just released Mario Kart 7 on the Nintendo 3DS. These karts are the real deal go karts that top out at 35 mph. West Coast Customs was entrusted by Nintendo to build these life-sized Mario karts for the debut of the 3DS game. Too bad Santa ain't got the pull to give me one of these little karts. I'd ditch my car in a heartbeat to go around town throwing banana peels and oil slicks at the other cars. Oh well, I guess I can settle for just the video game.
Mario Kart. For Reals.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could go down to the local K1 for some Mario Kart racing and then maybe spend the rest of the evening laughing at the dude who lost the race cause of that damn blue shell? Wonder no more as this group of karting dudes created one of the coolest game fan videos this year so far. Check it!
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii)

BTW - if you ever need a break from the combo-juggling insanity, there's also a hidden shooter mini-game which is pretty fun!
Muscle March Comes to Wiis Across America
Released in Japan last year, this title is soooo Japanese that most gaming folks would have never thought of getting a localized copy here in America. If you look past the muscle freaks and just overall oddness of what is happening onscreen, the game plays like "Human Tetris." Which works well with the Wii controls, making it a fun and entertaining mini-game. Just don't fail going through the wall.
If you got 500 Wii points laying around and have a knack for kooky Japanese gaming, you definitely should download this game after figuring out a good reason to explain to friends and family why this game is on your Wii.
If there were one reason to get a Wii…

...it'd be for Smash Bros. Brawl! Can't wait till this one comes out in March. For those not keeping up with the Smash Bros. Dojo you'll find an amazing amount of additions since Brawl! New characters such as Sonic, various amounts of new and old levels, and online play. Seriously, this is THE Nintendo game. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.
Dekotora Hits the Wii

What is Dekotora? It's a Japanese abbreviation for "decorative trucks." You know you've seen them before...either on the internet, on tv shows, maybe lucky enough to see one driving down the street. What amounts to a carnival on wheels, these trucks can get pretty elaborate and are quite a site to see. Not likely to hit the US, but those over the top trucks from Japan have a new game about them. Zenkoku Dekotora Matsuri should be available February 2008.

Hmmm...I guess I never posted this story. It was sitting on my desktop for the longest time. Oh well. I guess it kind of goes along with the truck theme that I got going on today...lol.
Donkey Kong: The Monster Truck
Leave it up to Nintendo to enter into the monster truck market with their own Donkey Kong monster truck. What a cool looking truck if you ask the Nintendo fanboy inside of me
Still I prolly would never be caught at any of these events. Seriously...monster trucks and the people they attract scare me. HAHA...
Lexus’ Virtual Open
Want the new Lexus IS-F? You know you want that bold blue IS-F that has hit the internet like a storm the last couple weeks...well now's your chance to get one. Lexus will, not only be sponsoring the US Open, but also the Virtual Open Powered by Wii located in New York's Rockefeller Center! It'll be 3 days of Wii Tennis competition starting on September 4th. On the day of the finals, one person will walk away with a one year lease for a new Lexus IS-F, just like the winner of the US Open. You'll also get two tickets to the Lexus Suite for the US Open Finals on the 9th. As if this couldn't get any better, the Virtual Open is also a charity event as for every serve hit during the Virtual Open will equal a dollar that Lexus will donate to the Andy Roddick Foundation. This my friends is cross promotion at it's finest. Check out myownpursuit.com for more info!

Need another DS? I do!

Even though I already own a Onyx DS...I could really go for this two-toned DS to go on sale August 21st! So tempted to get one...Onyx Ying? Crimson Yang? Oh that crazy Nintendo PR department...

Hit the split for the presser!
Victorious Boxer a.k.a. Hajime no Ippo
The news came out a couple weeks ago on GoNintendo, and I remember seeing a video demonstration from E3 where the developer said they were working on the US version...but anyhow, Nintendo Power has confirmed that Victorious Boxer will be making it to US Wiis this coming fall. HOORAY!!! For all you Hajime no Ippo fans this is prolly the most definitive game out of all the ones that came out on the PS2. Get ready to pick up your remote and nunchuck and take Ippo to the Championships!!! This one I'm really excited about and a bit happy relieved that you can use the classic controller, instead of motion sensitive moves, to play the game.
