Honda CR-Z. Mugen Style.

Straight from Mugen comes their take on the CR-Z. I want those wheels. I probably could do without the LED grill-bumper. Overall, not a bad looking car. Hybrid Tuning...its like the old adage, "All Show. No Go."  Maybe this round there'll be some "go" considering the amount of Japanese tuners willingly getting behind the Prius and Insight.

The Honda N360 to Electric Car Build Blog

Here's a nice write up, that is still being updated as we speak, about taking a sixties era JDM Honda N360 and converting it into a electric vehicle. Never mind the fact they ripped out everything to the point the Honda is a shell of its former self, its an interesting read on pretty much building a whole new car underneath. The gist is that it'll be powered by a 60hp electric motor and converted to mid-rear engine rear-wheel drive car with custom built transmission, suspension, and pretty much anything else that goes into making an electric car run. Quite a hefty project, but apparently good enough to have a Datsun 510 Wagon waiting in the wings to be converted into an electric vehicle.

Honda N360

The Honda is being projected to debut for the summer show season. Until then, we'll be keeping an eye on the build.

The Smart Drift Car

While searching for a video on something totally different, I somehow came across this video.

Yup. That right there is a Smart car drifting with the big boys in Japan. Why anyone would want to is beyond me but it sure as hell amusing. It's a rear engine RWD drift car that's economical and environmentally friendly - well maybe not after you waste a couple tires during track day. Shooting flames from the exhaust probably doesn't help either.

Move over Hybrid…

hondafcxclarity

At the Los Angeles Auto Show today, Honda introduced a production version of the concept FCX seen earlier, named the FCX Clarity. The FCX Clarity will be available for a 3 year lease at $600/month. This covers a limited insurance and maintenance. The car will initially be available in areas that have hydrogen fuel cell stations, which is namely, Southern California. I wouldn't mind having one these as a daily driver...it has considerable power and it beats the 20mpg average I'm pulling with the S2! lol.
