Better Late Than Never: Scion FR-S’ First Drift

Sport!!!

Just thought I would put this here in reference to this post "The Next Hachi Roku (AE-86)?". What was that exactly? The Speedhunters got some footage of Formula DRIFT driver, Ken Gushi, testing out the drifting abilities of the Scion FR-S for the first time. So even though the vid has made it's way through the Internet a couple weeks earlier, a word is a word and here's a glimpse of what the Toyobaru can do...on a wet track.

The next Hachi Roku (Toyota AE-86)?

The Scion FR-S Concept is suppose to be the descendant of the famed Toyota AE-86 known to devoted fans as "the little car that could". The AE-86 was a light and agile car that gained fame due to the Japanese Anime series "Inital D". It was first believed that the FR-S was going to maintain the Toyota logo but it looks like it's going to carry the Scion badge instead. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see this car drifting, and when it does, IMPORTJUNKIEZ.com will be sure to post it! Enjoy the video.

PINKS all out … AE-86 represents!

Here's a funny video that I came across. The host of PINKS takes a pretty funny shot at the Toyota Co. and there current situation ( you know the acceleration on it's own problem). Hey, you gotta give that little corolla that could a thumbs up for representing! Enjoy!

Toyota FT-86 Concept Revealed

Remember back when Toyota and Subaru were working on a coupe together? Well instead of a small sketch we now get a concept car which looks nothing like a Toyota, but sports lines that'll indeed make someone think Nissan or Mazda. The FT-86 is suppose to be the true succesor of the AE-86, which means this thing is going to be a front engine RWD Coupe, that should slot into the affordable range on the market. While Toyota did most of the design of the FT-86, Subaru has added a 2.0 Boxer Engine to the mix and is suppose to build the vehicle in its plants when production starts. This will definitely be one subcompact to watch when it is released on the market in 2011-2012. -Tanker!

RUMOR OF THE DAY: AE86 to make a come back?

Just like the undying rumor of a Honda CRX return every couple seasons, the Toyota Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno/AE86 has a similar cycle. This time coming from the Japanese magazine, Best Car. The "AE86" is slated for a Winter 2008 debut. Boasting a 120hp engine and under 2200lb weight, this car is set to be an affordable lightweight compact RWD car - the likes of what we haven't seen since the Miata debuted. Interesting note from the article is that the car would sport a RWD system from Heavy Fuji Industries a.k.a. Subaru. Anyone else see the Scion Fuse in the sketch? Hmmmm, I think I'll believe this when I see the car in showrooms. It's only a year away...
