IJ’s Saturday Morning: Tokyo Mater

This short had started running on the Disney channel a couple of years ago, but every once in a while I'll catch it and be reminded, "Why haven't I put this up on IJ yet?" Every time I watch it I can't help but crack up since its everything that's wrong with the F&F franchise and Tokyo Drift more specifically. MODIFY! It also has a soundtrack scored by BT which makes it even that much better. I'm not the only one who liked the short as there was a whole Tokyo Drift toy line that came out in 2010 and did pretty good for the Disney Consumer Products. So get READY! SET-TO! and GO! watch the clip for that quick pick me up this Saturday morning.

Mario Kart. For Reals.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could go down to the local K1 for some Mario Kart racing and then maybe spend the rest of the evening laughing at the dude who lost the race cause of that damn blue shell? Wonder no more as this group of karting dudes created one of the coolest game fan videos this year so far. Check it!

Honda’s Interactive Commercial

Honda has always been on the cutting edge of technology and with a new technique called "screen hoping" they further solidify that fact. Pretty much how screen hoping works is: watch the commercial (whether on your tv, computer, or even another iPhone), then reach out with your iPhone and grab the characters as they appear on the screen. It looks pretty cool, and the applications look endless. Try it out and let me know how it goes ( I would try it out myself but I don't got an iPhone) Enjoy!

Top Gear US

Top Gear, the famed BBC car series, has an American version premiering November 21, 2010 on the History channel. The show is based off of the British show with it's own trio to boot. Tanner Foust, professional racing/drift driver, Adam Ferrara, actor and comedian and Rutledge Wood, an automotive and racing analyst are the hosts of the show. Just like infamous "Stig" from the Brit version, there will be an anonymous racing driver and a celebrity guest will be featured each week. I hope that it's as good as the British version...or at least close! Enjoy!

Shut It Pinky!

I love me some Mario Kart, but you got to love Activision's commercial for its latest racing game, Blur:

BTW - is the game any good? looks interesting, but looks like it can get old fast.

Go kart drifting for kids?

I had just gotten home from work when I decided to do what most people do when they get home from work, relax on the couch and watch tv. Right when I turned on the tube this commercial came on.

It's a new go-kart style toy called Ground Force Drifter. To say the least I was kind of suprised. I know drifting, after being introduced in Japan so long ago, became pretty popular in the states, but I never expected this. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous, oh to be a kid again! One of the great things that will come out of the release of this new toy is a whole new generation of drifters, or a whole bunch of bad drivers... oh well I guess we will have to wait and see ... HA HA!

Nissan Sentra SE-R Goes 1/10th Scale

It's been a while since I've actually logged on to the internet, but I did happen to catch this ad from Nissan Canada. Entitled, "Drift," this commercial is all kinds of awesome and all it's missing is some action figures and Dale Ishimoto, the guy who portrayed Mr. K in the 90s. Enjoy the Ride!

Make.Believe You Can Be a Real Race Car Driver

Dear Sony - Why isn't this ad on TV? Awesome clip - way better than what Sony's pushing out right now.

If you are not sure who Lucas Ordonez is: Back in 2008, Nissan and Sony held a competition across Europe to create a race car driver out of video gamers called the "GT Academy." The task? Beat 25,000 other gamers to the fastest lap in GT5 Prologue for the PS3. Twenty-two gamers had the fastest laps and were then given physical, mental, and driving challenges. The winner of these trials was Lucas Ordonez. He did pretty good in his debut at the Dubai 24hr 2009 by finishing 45th and 9th in class. He then went on to take 2nd place in his 2009 campaign in the Euro GT4 Championship. Impressive.

ABDC Starts Tomorrow… and My Bet is On…

My bet is on the group out of Westminister Ca, Poreotix. I haven't seen any crazy dance moves as of yet, but they're clean... and like the famed Jabbawockeez, HILARIOUS! I have to give it up to them for the doing a performance to a Taylor Swift song and rocking it. Poreotix I got $100 on you to win... don't let me down!

Sweet Commercial by KIA… During the Super Bowl

I got a kick from watching this commercial, so I decided to share it with all the faithful IMPORTJUNKIEZ fans. The sock monkey puppet is kick ass! You have to watch the dance scene when the robot gets down! Makes me want to buy a Kia... well ok, maybe not a Kia, but at least the commercial is sweet.
