IJ’s Saturday Morning

Here we are again with the second episode from Wagan Midnight. I haven't spent much time this morning as I cheered on the Longhorns to beat the Sooners and currently watching SC dominate ASU. Later on tonight, is LSU vs Florida which will be a good game...I hope. GO GATORS! Back on Wagan Midnight, I recently received the soundtrack to installment 3 of the arcade game. Very nice. Anyhow, on to the show, so sit back, relax, and remeber the rest of the show is after the split!

It’s My Thursday: Another Weekend

Well another Friday has come upon us and it seems that it'll be another busy weekend for me. Although Friday, is technically my Thursday, I have managed to get Saturday off this weekend...again. The main reason I have taken Saturday off was because the Trojans are back in town and this weekend playing ASU. BEAT THE DEVILS! Maybe take in some tailgating on the USC campus and catch the game at my buddy's house. Hopefully the bacon-wrapped hot dog carts, aka LA DOG, will be there. I love me some LA DOGS, either early morning after a night of partying or at a USC home game. Please L.A., don't take those away from me.

Other than the game, my Saturday is pretty much open at night. Maybe head with some friends to eat dinner at Tokyo Table. I haven't seen them in a while and it'd be a good time to catch up. Either that or catch Oktoberfest at the Old World Village in Huntington Beach. Had fun there last year...man was that last year? I don't even remember, but it is prolly one of the funnest Oktoberfests in the Southern California region...that I've been to. The one at Alpine Village in Torrance is also pretty good. If your in the area you should check either one out - German beer can't be beat. Well maybe not a Guiness or Boddington's, but still.

Sunday is my day of rest for the most part, but my buddy scored some tickets to Game 3 between the Phillies and Dodgers in the NLCS. So gonna be out a Dodger Stadium late afternoon to catch the game. GO BLUE! That prolly means I'll be missing the finals of Formula Drift. Yah, I didn't know it was this weekend, where have I been?! So if you can't make it out to Chavez Ravine, you might want to spend sometime down at the Irwindale Speedway, in Irwindale, and catch some cars slide sideways around the track. Can't be that bad...

Hope you all have a great weekend and maybe tune in on Saturday to catch another installment of IJ Saturday Mornings. Going to start that up again so keep your eyes peeled! Again, if you registered a while back, like before 2008, or you haven't registered at all, I encourage you to register with Import Junkiez. It'll give you the ability to comment back on the posts and maybe someday, something special! That I think I'll let you all know about at another time. For now, it's time for me to go, see you all later!

Forum Madness: Body Shop of Horrors

You have a 350Z and a kit that you want to put on it, what would you do? For most enthusiasts, I'm guessing they'll take it to the body shop. Especially if the kit needed to be paint matched. Well this 350Z owner decided to take his car to a local bodyshop here in SoCal - actually in my hometown: iDesign/Import Image off Fairway in Walnut, CA. Our owner, CrimsonRockett, dropped $750 to get the kit painted and installed on the car, then proceeded to wait it out as weeks passed by. Like most times I dealt with bodyshops, they'll give you a date to pick-up and end up maybe bumping it a day to a week. I was given 2 weeks to get my car fixed and ended up waiting 3 1/2 weeks. So that I would understand, but when waiting that long you would expect a pristine job right? And most places deliver that extra care, but this place in Walnut man, puts me at a loss for words. Especially when they do something like the picture below to tack on a side skirt.

You can tell the time they spent into thisĀ  project since the woodscrews (wait what?!) aren't even in a straight line or evenly spaced. Even with that, it's not the end of this CrimsonRockett's problems: crappy fit, disaster of a paintjob with bad orange peel, overspray all over the car including tires and lights, misaligned body panels, missing parts, panel dings, more woodscrews and even found a piece of wood between the panel and woodscrew. Go ahead and join our owner, CrimsonRockett, at his home at my350Z.com and see more pics and more details about this story. Hopefully Mr. Rockett will be able to get his car back to snuff - another shop quoted him $4k to fix it all. Get iDesign/Import Image to pay it cause what you got was not worth $750. Beware of rabid posters who are quick to blame the victim. Come on, whether the owner deserves it or not, it should be as bad as this.

Mazda 3 to be at the LA Auto Show

Moving away from Honda, Mazda seems to be doing great with their design. Earlier we saw the debut of the Mazda 6 and the Mazda 3 looks like a mini-version, with the same headlight design and RX8-like fender. Not bad...

Presser after the split...

Not So Envious Now…

Take a look at the Acura CSX. Basically a North American Civic with a huge influence from the JDM Civic. I consider this a better looking car than the North American Civic, which wreaks of blandness.

There was a time I wish Honda didn't change their car looks based on North American tastes. Looking at the newest models coming out from Acura, North Americans aren't the most forward-thinking bunch. So when the CSX first debuted, I was happy to see a great copy of the JDM Civic. I was pretty jealous of the Canadians - HIDs and Navi goodness in a great package. Yet, now with the latest MMC, it seems I'm glad that it was never brought to the US.
