TRUST, aka GReddy, Declares Bankruptcy

It seems to be spreading around most of the boards and most auto sites that a major Japanese tuning company has filed for bankruptcy - Trust aka GReddy has announced they are $600 million in debt and have watched their sales decline. I was kind of surprised since I am a big supporter of GReddy - My old car had everything from exhausts (Yes there was 2. One had failed years after the warranty expired, so I got a new one) to a GReddy windshield banner, which I scored at Import Showoff! As I was saying, it's kind of shocking to think a company, who was there from the beginning, is on the verge of shuttering it's doors. There things like a slowing economy and declining interest in aftermarket parts which are offered up as reasons why Trust/GReddy has filed. I would also think that people buying knock-off parts are contributing to the problem. They should stop with the E-Bay brands and support companies that actually do R&D and will stand behind their products' performance.

For now, it's not all bad news, as they have stated that this filing will not affect their production of current and new products. Trust/GReddy will still operate as normal here in the States and is still gearing up for a good showing at SEMA. Be assured, or maybe not, that it'll be a while before we see a clearance sale ;-)
