SEMA Debut: Toyota Corolla/Matrix
Since my broken leg pretty much made SEMA out of the question, I've been at home ignoring the show in protest. I suppose that's why I didn't get the news that the all new Corolla and Matrix made their American debut at the show in Vegas. Interesting choice for a car debut...especially two cars that didn't stray to far from the previous generations. Both are powered by the Camry I4, a 2.4L engine that pumps out 158hp/162 lb-ft of torque. The non-XRS Corolla models have a smaller I4, mind you. Not exactly mind blowing, but what do you expect from compact cars? Other than that, looks like the rumors of the Blade making it's way to North America as the Matrix came true. Also, in what can be the quickest debut of a new model in the aftermarket, Toyota unveiled a supercharged version of the Corolla and a rally version of the Matrix. Exciting. OK time for some PR pics! Hooray... :-/
Nissan GT-R Is Finally Here =)
I guess it's time to get off my lazy ass and do something with this site ah? LOL. So let's see what to post...

So, since the GT-R made it's grand debut at the Tokyo Motor Show figure should throw some stuff up about the car. Now first of all, I'm kind of whatever about it's design, but I'm sure I can overlook it when considering it's specs. Deep down inside this kid still wants a R34.

The new GT-R is a 4wD monster that has the VR38 twin-turbo V6 engine that'll pump out an impressive 473hp and 434 lb.-ft. of torque. For now, it will be coupled with the GR6 six-speed twin clutch transmission that can be either operated automatically or with the steering-column mounted paddle shifters in Manual Mode or Race Mode.

My brother-in-law asked me,"...well when it comes time to get an upgrade, what will you replace the S2 with?" Well with Honda just flubbing the next NSX and not sure what they want out of their halo car, I might finally have to jump the Honda ship to get me one of these bad boys. Heck they fall within the same price range. Will definitely want to stop by the Nissan dealership when this one comes in...just to look. I sware.
Specs after the jump!
Silence.
Yup, it's been quiet on the ImportJunkiez front and that's all my fault. So sorry about the long gaps in posts - if I could I would sit on IJ all day and chug out random articles if I could...
...well actually that might come to pass. You see last two weeks have been pretty busy for me at work where I would literally, wake up, go to work, stay OT, go home, eat, sleep...rinse and repeat. After about a week of that, I finally was coming upon some VAC time. You see, me and my buddies had went to Chicago this past weekend to catch the USC-ND game. Anyhow, in all the hub-bub, I had managed to break my leg. Yup, my friends, I have broken my fibula in two spots. With that, I have pretty much extended my week long VAC into a whole month off! Depending on how long this cast sticks to my leg, I will prolly be spending a lot more time online than usual...which I guess means more time for Import Junkiez!
Everyone wins. So give me a moment as I get myself situtated at home and watch the posts come...lol.
P.S. And for those of you who don't know...USC won, so it was well worth the trip! BEAT THE IRISH!!!!
GT5 vs. Reality
Devastating weekend for the Trojans indeed...other than that it was a dead weekend for me. I've been pulling mad OT to the point when I get home I'm just sleeping. Maybe in two weeks things will get back to normal...I HOPE.
So how good are Gran Turismo's graphics? Well photo-realistic good! Now, granted some of the shots in this quiz are quite obvious, especially if you sit and breath GT5 trailers whenever Sony releases them. So take the quiz...and maybe consider picking up a PS3 for this game. I am. Although, you might want to wait for the rumored price drop to $399.
