Ziga Zaga! Oi! Oi! Oi!

It's been a fun weekend so far. Not the greatest day for college football...but hey SC eeked out there win...it's definetly going to be an interesting season. Then it was off to Huntington Beach for some chicken dancing and beer chugging. Yup, it's that time of year again to celebrate Oktoberfest - how can you say no to silly chicken hats and bratwurst? Located at the Old World Village, right off the 405, Oktoberfest has various booths of German beers, as well as German foods, live music, and girls walking around selling shots lol. Overall, a pretty fun little excursion.

oktoberfest

Anyhow...it's been a couple days since I posted something worthwhile...if you could even call it that, eh? Been busy planning trips for later on in the year, running about doing errands that I should have never put off, and possibly on the verge of getting sick. I'm guessing Oktoberfest didn't help, but oh well. Hopefully I can get back to a normal schedule in the coming week...

Bose Suspension

Here's a demo of BOSE's suspension. Yes, not only do they make over-rated music equipment, they also make suspension parts! Sweet. Every car should have a hop option...

Birthday Weekend…

So a couple friends are having their birthday bashes this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out tonight to Boardwalk 11 - a bar that offers good assortments of beers and singing. That's right...drunken singing. I guess you really can't go wrong with that. Tomorrow night will be Geisha House - the typical restaurant/bar/lounge place in Hollywood. Never been there, but I hear the food ain't so great but the atmosphere is awesome. Before that though will be the Wazzu-SC game. Should be a great Pac-10 Opener for the Trojans. Anyhow, gonna keep this one kind of short cause I feel like a nap...and I want to eat too. Kind of hard to do both but, hey when it's the weekend, anything goes right? Have a good weekend!

Up Late…

Well I got in kind of late tonight. Come on now, it's Ramen Thursday, so I have a really good excuse. There were a couple things I've been wanting to post like Carscoop's little blip on Road Star Garage's MX5 converted Toyota 2000GT. I was also thinking about posting something up about that craziness of the Mugen Civic Type R selling out in 10 minutes or how about Honda also putting out a Race-only Civic Type R? Which I'm guessing will be much better equipped than the S2000 CR that has been delayed to Oct 6th. Hmmm, kind of Honda heavy lately...Uhhh, Toyota has halted the TRD Aurion sales in Australia cause the engine might blow up? I dunno, I was skimming news feeds fast, but that's kind of funny. Yesterday was "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and I wanted to tie that in with the GT-ARRRRRRRRRRRRR stuff, but oh well...I kind of blew that one too. Oh well. I seriously should be getting to bed but in honor of this late night post of trying to cram everything I wanted to do in 500 words or less in hopes that makes up for what I didn't do, I figure I'd put this up. My friend sent me this great clip from Conan, which I think is prolly one of my favorite skits from his show..."I call this the ranch." ...classic.

Synergy: From TGS to TMS

Sony had announced at the Tokyo Game Show, which is occuring as I write this, that the Nissan GT-R will make its debut not only next week at the Tokyo Motor Show, but also on PS3's GT5 Prologue. So it's alright, if you can't make it the show next month...you'll be able to download the GTR and take it for a virtual test drive against your built Honda Civic. lol. What's more interesting than real car damage, better AI, or real car interiors? The fact that the GTR also comes with the body cladding that we all saw in spyshots while testing. Attention to details...got to love it.

You Know It’s Tokyo Motor Show Time…

...when new cars start popping up all over the internet. For instance, the STi teaser pic that Subaru has released upon the internet:

Or what about the next gen Fit, which looks like a winner:

2nd Gen Fit Released!

Can't wait to see what else will be premiering at the Tokyo Motor Show. Should be a good one! I mean come on, it'll mark the return of the GT-R!!!

PGR4 Barely Goes Gold, While 5 Development Starts

I kind of skipped the weekend post. I've been pulling some crazy OT at work which really sucks balls. So by the time I'm off work I'm already partying for the weekend. lol. For those that would care, a buddy threw a BBQ for the USC-Nebraska game. USC totally dominated that 3rd quarter...and the "Wheel of Death" totally dominated everyone at the BBQ. HAHAHA...

For you Project Gotham Racing fans, rest assured that PGR4 has gone gold and will make it's October 2nd release. This game has kind of fallen off to the side when compared to the heavy hitters like Forza or Gran Turismo, but it's still a decent outing for an arcade racer. Besides, it comes with another game, "Geometry Wars: Waves." If you thought the first Geometry Wars was pretty addicting, this game should be just as fun - if you are into shooter type games. And if PGR4 wasn't enough, rest assured they have already started on number 5. From Bizarre themselves:

"Obviously Gotham 4's about to come out and we're really happy with it, but behind the scenes we've already started ripping our game to pieces. We know where we failed in certain areas; for instance we wanted more trackside damage, more particles and smoke effects, a bigger damage system - and all of these things are being stripped out in a post-mortem."

It's even reported they wanted to go all Motocross and add off-road tracks and ATV's! WTF? I guess...

Colin McRae: We’ll Miss You

RIP Colin McRae

I was saddened at the news and still find it hard to believe that Colin McRae died in a helicopter crash around his home in Lanark, Scotland over the weekend. Along with him in the helicopter was his son, Johnny, another child and an adult. This is indeed a huge loss for WRC followers who had watch McRae give Britain it's first WRC Champion in 1995. Although his involvement with WRC has waned over the years, he is probably one of the biggest names in the sport - I mean the man has a couple rally video games under his belt, the most recent one, Colin McRae's DiRT,came out this year. He has also taken a part in the Dakar Rally, LeManns, and even competed in the Rally debut at the XGames in Los Angeles. He was hoping to jump back into the WRC for the 2008 season. He will surely be missed by all his fans around the world...Rest in Peace and condolences go out to your family.

Honda Homecoming

Honda Homecoming 2007

It really brings a tear to my eye. Hundreds of S2Ks lined up at Honda's Torrance Headquarters along with a personal appearance of Shigeru Uehara himself? The father of the NSX and S2000?! MAN...would I die for him to sign my radio cover. LOL. Here's the S2Ki thread with all the pics and what not of the event. Looked like fun. Even an S600 and the S2000 CR were present. And free BBQ?...*sigh* sometimes working on Saturdays sucks.

The weekend…already?!

Well, I guess time flies when you take time off of work since I could have sworn Labor Day Weekend just ended yesterday. I doubt I had that much fun at work, but ehhh, I managed to make it to the end of the week. I managed to knock out two posts in between the last weekend post and this one. Kind of weak I know, but I'm getting bogged down with work. Hopefully when the season finally dies down, I'll be able to get back to posting junk. So what's going on?

Well the Honda Homecoming is this weekend. I though, will not be attending as I have work in the morning. Hopefully I can get a buddy, if he isn't lazy and forgetful, to get some pics or what not. Even a write up would be nice. But I wouldn't count on it. Still, if any one has anything on this S2K event at the Honda Headquarters, feel free to tell me your experience cause it sounds like a nice chill afternoon.

Tomorrow is part two of my ramen showoff I have with a friend. She swares up and down about this place called Daikokuya in J-Town. So we'll be hitting it up and discussing the qualities of Daikokuya's and Shin Sen Gumi's ramen. Who knows where tomorrow will end up after that. L.A. lounging as it is on Saturday nights, I suspect.

Sunday will be fun as I'll be hitting up Oakenfold/Underworld at the Hollywood Bowl. I went last time Oakenfold was playing at the bowl a couple years back, when "Starry Eye Surprise" was his biggest hit. Good show back then, although this time around Oakenfold is the opener. Underworld is the headliner and this group ain't bad either. They became more popular by providing the song "Born Slippy" to the Trainspotting soundtrack. Shouldn't be a bad show overall, especially when your paying for the cheap seats all the way at the back. lol.

Hope you all have a good weekend, I know I will.
